The Internet Governance Forum Italy 2020, a three days conference organised by the Italian Union of the Chamber of Commerce, ended on Friday 9 October in Rome, with the “Top of the PID” prize award ceremony, assigned to four Italian companies for remarkable projects in the digital field. Among these, Revelis was awarded in the “Re-Start” category for the project ai-Guard, the solution for safety measures monitoring against the Covid-19 contagion.

The award obtained at IGF Italy 2020 is another important recognition, after the first place in the ranking of innovative startups inherent to the “Startup and Spinoff – A smarter Calabria” tender promoted by the Calabria Region, “Scientific Research and Technological Innovation” sector. These achievements confirm the company’s consolidated expertise in the application of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technologies, which enable the creation of solutions aimed at improving the operations and living conditions of people and companies.
With this mission in mind, during the Covid-19 emergency, the team of Revelis specialists worked very hard to develop, in a very short time, a technology to facilitate the return of “normal life” for all the people, like the possibility working at the workplace, or to go to public offices, or to participate at public events, in compliance with the anti-Covid security measures established by government.
The result of this work is ai-Guard, an Artificial Intelligence solution for safety measures monitoring easy to install and run.
Thanks to the high precision in recognition of facial mask usage and social distancing maintenance, ai-Guard has become increasingly popular, and several organizations have chosen this solution to ensure the safety of employees, customers and patients at work.

Internet Governance Forum Italy 2020: ai-Guard awarded with the “Top of the PID – IGF 2020” for the sustainability category
The Internet Governance Forum Italy 2020 is an initiative under the aegis of the United Nations, to encourage discussion and debate between all parties interested in Internet governance. This year, over 150 speakers participated in 30 events organized in just 3 days.
At the end of this event, where innovation and technology were the great protagonists, an award ceremony was held, with four companies awarded for their work in four different categories: trust and safety; inclusion; data governance; sustainability.
Revelis, thanks to iGuard, during Internet Governance Forum Italy 2020 was awarded by receiving the “Top of the PID – IGF 2020” award for the sustainability category from the Minister of Labor and Social Policies Nunzia Catalfo.
At the award ceremony they were present also the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Cosenza, Klaus Algieri and Erminia Giorno (Secretary General at the Cosenza Chamber of Commerce).
How ai-Guard works
ai-Guard was developed in a very short time and was already available last June, and it’s available as an “all-in-one” device equipped with a camera, through which it is possible to monitor work environments by recognition of the use of facial mask and the respect of social distancing. If these safety measures are not observed, the device emits an acoustic warning.
ai-Guard is also available in server mode, for large organizations that have video surveillance systems with many cameras and want to monitor compliance with the security measures to avoid contagion from covid-19.
Using ai-Guard is also very simple, as the device does not need complex installations or internet connection. ai-Guard is powerful and extendable and also supports external cameras, making it an optimal solution for outdoor spaces and not just for offices.
