The “Living Lab” project
The Calabria Region’s “Living Lab” initiative aims to support R&S projects for public administrations that want to enable enviromental monitoring and smart cities applications. In this context, Revelis has developed a platform for the development of Artificial Intelligence solutions based on machine learning, deep learning and reasoning techniques.

The Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics platform will be validated in three application scenarios
Municipality of Mormanno
Monitoring of geological faults, in order to minimize the risks of hydrogeological instability
Municipality of Laino Castello
Monitoring of buildings static stability, aimed at minimizing the risks and the availability of new tourist routes
Municipality of Laino Borgo
Monitoring of erosive processes caused by the Lao river, in order to reduce critical issues in the presence of intense meteorological phenomena
The Talent Lab Project is formed by 6 workpackages
Management, planning, coordination and technical / scientific verification of Experimental Development. Direction, implementation and monitoring of experimental development activities. Physical-procedural control of R&D activities
Deepening and specific analysis of needs.
Planning of the technical, functional and integration requirements necessary for the Measurement, Energy Harvesting, Data Processing & Transmission Unit. Prototyping of the basic components of the system. A dedicated process for integrating MEMS sensors on PCBs will be developed and its manufacturability will be verified. Creation of the Base Units for each selected application and a common signal processing unit for interfacing the units.
Development of a monitoring platform suitable for the types of data produced by the sensor infrastructure built in WP3.
Integrazione dei sistemi
Product demonstration and validation tests in different laboratory scenarios (Alphageomega) and in controlled situations both through simulation tools to assist designers in the testing and validation of systems based on MEMS sensors and in physical scenarios directly on the identified targets jointly with the Municipalities (Alphageomega, Revelis, DIATIC). The planning of the activity includes public demonstrations of the operation of the system including the optimization of the needs of the end user in relation to the management of the flow and use of the data.
Transfer of results to Target Groups and Decision Makers. Creation of dedicated Web pages, the organization of a series of public events with presentations, conferences, workshops and demonstrations in real applications responding to actual needs, with the involvement of all partners involved and end users. Implementation of a plan for the exploitation of the results, which summarizes the strategy and the action plan for the protection and exploitation of the project results.
